🚴‍♂️ Bike & Run Inter-Schools 2025

Bike & Run inter-schools event

Inter-schools sporting event organization

Organization: Club Xtreme × Forum Association
Location: Télécom SudParis / IMT-BS – Seine riverbanks & Sénart forest
Participants: 150+
Role: President of Club Xtreme · Event Lead

🎯 The Challenge

After two years without an edition, the Bike & Run inter-schools event needed a complete reboot.

The problem

The race had lost momentum, organizational knowledge was partially gone, and the event required:

  • A full logistical redesign
  • Institutional approvals and safety validation
  • Strong coordination between volunteers, partners, and public authorities

All while keeping the event accessible, safe, and engaging for students from different schools.

The objective

Reinvent the event without losing its spirit, and successfully relaunch it as a flagship inter-schools sports gathering.

💡 The Concept: Bike & Run

A team-based endurance race built around simplicity and strategy.

Race principle

  • Teams of two: one runner, one cyclist
  • Free role switching at any time
  • Strategy, pacing, and cooperation are key

Formats

  • 7 km discovery course
  • 15 km endurance course

Routes & Experience

  • Start and finish at Télécom SudParis / IMT-BS
  • Mixed environment: riverbanks and forest trails
  • Clear signage and volunteer checkpoints along the route

Beyond the race

  • Friendly afterwork gathering
  • Freestyle mountain bike show, reinforcing the festive and community-driven atmosphere

🧩 Organization & Execution

As President of Club Xtreme, I led the project from conception to on-site execution.

Core responsibilities

  • Global event planning and scheduling
  • Logistics and safety management
  • Volunteer recruitment and coordination
  • Communication with partner associations
  • Collaboration with:
    • Municipal Police
    • Prefecture
    • Local institutional partners

On-site reality

Like any large outdoor event, the day involved unexpected issues on the course. Handling them in real time required fast decision-making, adaptability, and clear communication under pressure.

🤝 Team & Collaboration

The event was built as a collective effort, involving:

  • Student volunteers
  • Partner associations
  • Institutional stakeholders

This experience highlighted the importance of trust, delegation, and clear role distribution when managing large teams.

🚀 Outcome & Impact

  • 150+ participants from engineering schools and universities across Île-de-France
  • Strong engagement and positive feedback
  • Successful revival of an event that had been inactive for two years
  • Solid foundations for future editions

This project embodies what student-led initiatives can achieve when organization, responsibility, and collective energy come together.

The bikes are back in the garage, but the momentum is here to stay.
